mission statement: properboy is the hardware division of music label proper n.y.c. founded by electronic producer/drummer steve stoll in new york city in the early 90's. Now based out of the mid-west, properboy produces small batch electronic instruments and one-off designs, such as Mimms oscillators, pollute feedback loopers, voltage starve devices, contact mics, alternative controllers, as well as "remixes" and "re-houses" of existing circuit designs all built to the properboy aesthetic of one-off exclusiveness, and playability. properboy is a contributor to the d.i.y. community, and i believe in the open sharing of information and ideas to further the electronic arts.
"Like many small pedal makers my introduction to electronics was through circuit bending. With properboy I try to keep that spirit alive, as I prefer to design boxes that are different from the standard issue distortion, delay, etc... I am attracted to designs that make you think "what can I do with this". To me a successful circuit is like a vintage analog synth, the possibilities should be open for exploration and not limited in application." -s.stoll

"pollute" passive feedback looper
This passive pedal can give new life to your old stomp box effects. I originally designed it for use in noise/industrial music as it creates washes of controllable feedback, but it can also be used in more subtle textural applications. Experimentation is the key to this device. Housed in a "raw" pro-grade Hammond enclosure. I offer a lifetime warranty on this circuit.

Mims Oscillator (one-off mods)
Mims Oscillator: pre-built circuit
This kit is pre-assembled/soldered by the properboy and only requires a 9V adapter and audio cable to bring the noise. Very easy to mod, just plug in and play! I will only be offering 10 units in this pre-built series!
"Mims Oscillator Deluxe"
This is going to be a small run of 4 units. As usual the video will do the best at explaining the device, but it is essentially an 8 bit sounding oscillator. This unit features a hand-made pcb, sozo capacitor, 2 inputs for processing voltages, ground select switch, capacitor bend switch, pulse width, frequency, and starve knobs.
